once upot a time - there was Consoles

Gaming consoles are modified computing devices or interactive processing unit that brings on video display signal only for the purpose of playing games. It will need a display device like television or monitor to give the virtual output of arcade games, there are dedicated arcade machines are available but not for home use, you can chare others to pay for the play.

Some basic elements or supplies of gaming consoles are:

a. Gaming media or sources of arcade data. This can be any type of read only memory data storage it can san be expressed as program storage for that particular gaming device.

b. Read write memory device. During game play there are some user interfaces like saving the game, loading the saved game position, deleting unwanted saves. For these actions one read-write memory is highly needed.

c. Main console unit, this is the main part with a gaming processor, random access memory and audit video transformer to deliver analog of digital output, it is a hub like device, where we can attach the power supply, gaming cartridges or ROM, controllers, audio and video output device.

d. Controllers are like to hands of the gaming console. It transfers human interface signals to the core to process the next move or action. There are game pads, keyboards, joysticks, infrared devices.

e. Power supply, supplies power to that device according to the need or capacity of the Unit. There is an adaptor that supplies DC current, converted from AC supply.

We can divide the gaming console periods by years of advancements.

1. First generation (1950 to 1972)
2. Second generation (1976 to 1983)
3. Third generation (1985 to 1988)
4. Fourth generation (1989 to 1995)
5. Fifth generation (1995 to 2000)
6. Sixth Generation (2000 to 2007)
7. Seventh generation (2008 to continuing)
